la fase final, que se juega en Estonia del 3 al 15 de julio y que,
además, reparte las cinco plazas europeas para el Mundial sub 20 del año
que viene.
Tras recuperar a Jesé y Derik, que jugaron con los filiales

supere con la mayor soltura posible a Armenia para enfrentarse en buenas

As Euro 2012 kick-off approaches, UEFA stands accused of hypocrisy
The run-up to the Euro 2012 kick off next Friday is becoming
reminiscent of the approach to the 2010 World Cup finals in South
Africa.
Firstly, the worries were all about preparations; then it was all about a boycott by European Union politicians; now the fear factor has thrown up issues of racism and hooligan violence.
Concerns emanate from high-profile incidents over the past two years in neighbouring Russia, considered as ‘setting a standard’; from an equivocal attitude towards racist chanting by European federation UEFA; and lastly from a tabloid-style Panorama programme by BBC TV.
Just as with South Africa, hosting officials are growing worried that security fears are keeping visiting fans away. Not only fans, either.
Even before the Panorama programme the families of England’s Arsenal forwards Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had said they would not attend for fear of being racism targets.
Manchester City’s Italy forward Mario Balotelli has said he will walk off the pitch if he is believes he has been racially abused. This could backfire on him. In Italy, while with Inter, Balotelli was regularly put off his game because opposing fans knew they could upset him easily with racist abuse.
Balotelli said: “If someone throws a banana at me in the street, I will go to prison because I will kill him. Racism is unacceptable to me, I cannot bear it. I hope there will not be a problem at the Euros because if it does happen I would straight away leave the pitch and go home. We are in 2012, it can’t happen.”
BBC’s Panorama maintained its depressing tradition of running a ‘knocking’ programme on the eve of any major football event by its latest offering. Football is an easy target, after all.
Not that this is to query the veracity of ugly scenes from domestic games including crowds making monkey chants at black players and the targeting of them with foul language and physical threats. Footage was shown of Asian students being attacked at the Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv, where three group matches will be staged, along with scenes of fans making Nazi salutes and roaring out anti-Semitic chants.
The former England defender, Sol Campbell, said he thought that racist attitudes meant UEFA had been wrong to take the finals to Ukraine and Poland in the first place.
He said: “What they should say is that ‘if you want this tournament, you sort your problems out’.” He cautioned fans: “Stay at home and watch it on television. Don’t even risk it . . . because you could end up coming back in a coffin.”
That sensationalist view was contested from Ukraine. Veteran striker Andriy Shevchenko said he was unaware of a serious problem and Ukraine’s Euro 2012 director Markian Lubkivsky described Campbell’s remarks as “insolent”. Lubkivsky added: “We are getting ready for a great football festival. From the UEFA point of view, I don’t see any dangers for citizens of different nationalities staying in Ukraine.”
UEFA’s priorities were laid bare by two virtually simultaneous disciplinary decisions.
Manchester City were fined £25,000 because their players were late out for the start of a Europa League second half against Sporting Clube; but racist chanting aimed by Porto fans at City players earned the Portuguese club a fine of only £15,000.

ESM Golden Shoe: final standings
Messi finishes the season with 100 points, which not only makes him the highest points scorer in this season’s standings but also the highest goalscorer – four ahead of both Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Trans Navara’s, Aleksandrs Cekulajevs, who both managed an impressive 46 goals.
This is the second Golden Shoe award picked up by Messi who also claimed the accolade in the 2009-10 season with 34 goals.
Runner-up to Messi with 92 points was last year’s winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored six more goals than when winning the award last season.
The top ten represents a pantheon of modern striking greats with Robin van Persie, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney, all recording their highest ever totals for a league campaign.

Esteban Vigo: "El Almería se merece jugar la fase de ascenso"
Esteban Vigo lo tiene muy claro y así lo ha destacado este viernes. Y es que el entre
nador de la UD Almería cree que su equipo "se merece jugar" la fase de ascenso a Primera, aunque es consciente de que no dependen sólo de su resultado ante el Alcoyano. "El Almería se merece jugar los 'playoffs'. Llevamos tres victorias consecutivas pero desgraciadamente seguimos sin depender de nosotros mismos".
El técnico malagueño se ha mostrado convencido de que sus jugadores van a seguir como en las últimas jornadas y confía en que el Hércules pinche en Huesca, combinación que le daría al Almería la posibilidad de disputar la fase de ascenso. "El Hércules está obligado a ganar. En los otros encuentros a nuestros rivales -Córdoba y Alcorcón- les vale con el empate".
"Nosotros tenemos que ir a lo nuestro, que es ganar al Alcoyano. Sólo debemos centrarnos en ello y luego ya veremos qué ocurre, aunque espero que podamos darnos una alegría el domingo por la noche", insistió Esteban Vigo.
Por último y sobre el rival, el entrenador del Almería ha dicho que "lo pondrá muy difícil. A nadie le gusta perder y aunque esté descendido vendrá a complicar las cosas porque sus jugadores son profesionales". Además, ha augurado que si se clasifican para disputar la fase de ascenso darán "mucha guerra".
El sorteo de Copa cruza a campeonas y subcampeonas de Liga
La Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, el mismo escenario donde la próxcima semana (del 8 al 10 de junio) tendrá lugar la disputa de la Copa de la Reina, ha sido el escenario elegido para realizar el sorteo. El azar ha querido que los dos equipos que se han jugado la Liga hasta la última jornada, Athletic de Bilbao y Barcelona, disputen una de las semifinales, siendo Espanyol y Rayo Vallecano los equipos de la otra semifinal.
El próximo viernes 8 de junio se disputarán las dos semifinales de
la Copa de la Reina 2012. La primera semifinal, a disputar a las 16.30, medirá a Espanyol, segundo equipo que más Copas tiene en su haber (5, una menos que el Levante) y Rayo Vallecano, que tiene sólo una en su haber. La segunda semifinal, a partir de las 19.30, enfrentará a Barcelona, vigente defensor del título y actual campeón de Liga, y Athletic de Bilbao, subcampeón liguero y equipo que no tiene ningún entorchado copero en su palmarés.
La final se celebrará a las 11.00 horas del domingo 10 de junio.
Antonio Martínez celebra dos ascensos la misma temporada
Apenas había jugado cuatro partidos esta temporada con el Castilla y dos días antes de cerrarse el mercado invernal Antonio Martínez fue cedido al Mirandés. Con una maleta casi vacía, pero con mucha ilusión se mudó para probar una nueva experiencia. "Nada más llegar me encontré a un grupo de amigos. Me adapté muy rápido y todo el mundo me invitó a ser parte de esto. Enseguida estaba como en casa".
Hoy es un hombre feliz. Antonio Martínez ha conseguido ascender a Segunda división con dos equipos distintos. "Lo he vivido con mucha ilusión, estoy muy contento y muy agradecido por todo lo que me ha pasado. Todos los elogios que diga son pocos. La afición de Miranda es increíble. También me alegro mucho por todos mis compañeros del Castilla", indica.
Cuando terminó el partido en Palma, Antonio estaba contento. El
Mirandés había conseguido el ascenso. Primer objetivo cumplido. Ya en el
vestuario preguntó cómo iba el Castilla y cuando se enteró del
resultado final en el aeropuerto volvía a sonreír de nuevo. Era feliz
por partida doble. "Fue Carlos Lasheras quien bromeó diciéndome que el
Castilla iba perdiendo 0-2. Yo le dije que eso era imposible", señala.El destino ha querido que esta tarde vuelva a jugar en la que ha sido su casa durante nueve años. Martínez se considera canterano del Real Madrid: "Llegué al club en alevines". El Mirandés y el Castilla se enfrentan en el partido de ida para decidir el campeón de Segunda B.
Aunque Martínez tiene el corazón dividido prefiere que gane el Mirandés. "Va a ser muy especial para mí porque juego contra muchos amigos. Espero que disfrutemos los dos equipos porque ya hemos conseguido el ascenso".
Cuando el árbitro pite el final Antonio compartirá su alegría con todos sus ex compañeros, aunque no sabe con quién se cambiará la camiseta. "Si pudiera, lo haría con todos, pero como sé que eso es imposible, lo que sí que haré será abrazarles".
El 30 de junio Antonio será otra vez del Real Madrid. No sabe todavía cuál será su futuro: "Siempre tendré un trocito de mi corazón reservado para Miranda".
Para el partido de hoy, el Castilla pierde a Iván González, lesionado, mientras que Nacho vuelve de la sub 21. Por su parte, el Mirandés tiene las bajas de Lambarri y Nauzet por lesión.
